We also provide a view of upcoming games showcases and upcoming game releases of the week. This is your one stop shop for all things gaming.

tinyBuild Connect 2024

This games showcase by indie games publisher tinyBuild was shown on 21st May and I wanted to share the games that I found most interesting. Check out the full showcase here where you can see all the trailers for these games and more.

SAND - beta summer 2024 - PC

The look of this PVPVE game looks like Rust and Sea of Thieves had a baby. In the trailer we see the ability of building and battling what looks like sand walking ships however just looking at the trailer I believe the idea behind the game is go out in the dessert world and find the best loot and find out what happened to this world. Check out the trailer here. Add to your steam wish list here.

Level Zero: Extraction - 2024 - PC

This game is a tactical multiplayer extraction horror and is giving me Metro vibes in the sense of the tenseness you feel when going through different parts of the world not knowing what is around the corner but with the looks of Lethal Company. Check out the trailer here. Add to your steam wish list here.

Astor: Blade of the Monolith - 30th May - PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

This is a cool looking action RPG. There is seems to be quite a bit of variety in the environments throughout the world with a variety of enemies and bosses. While you only wield one weapon there seems to a variety of skills which help you through your challenges. It looks interesting a fun but I think that we will have to wait and see if it does provide the fun RPG experience I am looking for. Luckily it is out soon. Check out the trailer here. Add to your steam wish list here.

Ducks with Guns - beta 6th June - PC

Another PVPVE game which puts you in the body of a duck who can craft, build cases and shoot guns. Why ducks?? who knows but in that vain it does make it different Rust or Fallout 76 but not sure what else sets it apart yet. Check out the trailer here. Add to your steam wish list here.

PC Gaming Mods

Seeing the mods that gaming community make is one of the things I love when games come to the PC gaming. Whether it be mods to improve the game like add in higher resolutions and Ray Tracing or all the way to making a studio suite for people to make their own levels, it is pretty amazing to see.

The first mod I wanted to showcase this week one that adds in ray tracing and 8k to Ghost of Tsushima. Check out the video to see how beautiful the world of Ghost of Tsushima looks with these mods.

The second video I wanted to show was in Starfield where modders have turned the game into a Star Wars Mandalorian game. Changing it 3rd person view, adding in Models for Mando, Stormtroppers, Rebels and more, also adding in blasters and the dark saber.

Ever wanted to have the ability to make Super Mario 64 levels? With Super Mario Maker 2 selling over 8 million copies it is likely many of you out there would love this mod build by Rovertronic that allows you to build and share your own levels. Check out the mod here.

Reviews

Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door was released on 23rd May 2024 and its getting really good reviews. This game is a remake of the Gamecube RPG game with the same name from 2004. Check out the reviews here.

Senua’s Saga Hellblade 2 was released on…. and is getting pretty good reviews. This is very technically impressive game using a variety of advanced features from Unreal Engine 5 such as Nanite and Lumin. The real impressiveness comes from the character models and not only the way they look but also the real time reactions of the character expressions as you go through the different aspects of the game. Check out the reviews here.

The Kingdom Hearts series is being added to steam library on 13th June. This is one that I'm quite excited for as it's one series I have yet to play. Check out the steam page for Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 here and Kingdom Hearts 3 here.
