Leaked docs have confirmed the details of the PS5 Pro - TLDR: its faster but won’t take over the original PS5. If you want the best way to play PS5 games at release then the PS5 Pro will be it but I won’t be grabbing one personally as with my base PS5 and my PC, I think I will be ok with waiting for the games to come to PC if I want to play them in better quality. There were quite a few games that were shown at Nintendo’s Indie Showcase - the two most interesting in my opinion were Steamworld Heist 2 and Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles: Splintered Fate. Check out the showcase here.

It feels like every week I am adding a story about layoff in the Games Industry and this weeks its Take Two who are laying off 579 employees, we hope that everyone is able to land on their feet. Sadly it seems that many companies around the world are cutting back on staff and the game industry is not exempt. More details here.

The games market grew last year in the UK and digital console sales grew by 5.6% however physical sales declined by 5% year on year. The physical sales declines saddens me a little as I think it is quite cool to own plus when it comes to games preservation we know the console makers will not support older hardware digital stores / downloads after a certain amount of year. Everyone seems to be going wild over Delta, the new free Nintendo emulator on the Apple App store. I don’t have an iPhone so I have not been able to test it out yet but I am always for a new way to play older classic games. More details here.

A modder turned a ps1 console into a working handled - I thought this was pretty cool but not it is worth the effort when you can buy pretty good cheap handled which can emulate the PS1 pretty well probably for a lot cheaper. Check out more details here.

This was the most wholesome gaming this I have seen this week on social media - an ex sea of thieves developer used a playdate to propose. Check out the full story here.

This is the funniest thing I have seen all week on social media - Elon Musk got ratio’d for calling out an Elden Ring player who goes by name ‘Silithur’. The short version is that Elon said fighting the last boss using morse code is easy and that Silithur should try beating Melania and Silithur’s reply was that he had already done that. Check out the full story here.
