News

Star Wars Outlaws story trailer has been released, and it looks interesting but I do get the feeling of a story somewhat similar to the Han Solo movie and I think that is ok even if you did not like that story because the gameplay seems more interesting in terms of being able to make or break alliances and that then impacting the game and how your story plays out. Also its worth nothing the release date is not too far off - 30th August 2024. While I do want to play this I am not happy about having to pay more than half of the price of the base game on top to play an extra mission. More details here.

Review scores are in for the Fallout series on Prime video and while I have not read the reviews in depth as not to spoil anything, however looking at just the scores its looking good so far. Check out the review scores here.

Employees in GAME stores (gaming shop in the UK) were told they are being moved to a zero hours contract through a mass Microsoft teams calls, from my experience in working in large companies, this is the one of worst way to get this kind of news, as there was apparently no heads up and no options to ask any questions. Plus moving to zero hours contracts is going to suck for a lot of the employees. Find out more here.

The reviews for Children of Sun are also in and they are quite good. This is the first I heard of this game and I think that is case for many of you. This game is supernatural, puzzle sniper shooter and has quite a stylistic look to it, one to check out if any of that interests you. Check out the reviews here.

Dredge is getting film adaptation - I really enjoyed this game but I did not complete so not exactly sure how it’s being turned into a film but I am happy to go watch it. More details here.

If you want more insight about how CD PROJECKT RED went from a dumpster fire of a developer after the initial release of Cyberpunk 2077 to where they are now from the perspective of one of the game directors then check out this talk at the D.I.C.E. Summit 2024.

This is another interesting talk about how Glow Up games is doing things differently in the industry. They are an all women of colour founded studio which are creating games that are “culturally informed” from the people within those cultures. I think this is pretty cool because with different perspectives / upbringings / cultures / environments, we get different games, which pushes the industry forward and also may bring in people from those cultures who relate to these types of games into the industry.

Dead Cells developer has released an animated reveal trailer for their new Prince of Persia Roguelite game has a very different art style from Dead Cells which was more pixelated?, the trailer goes from animated scenes to gameplay which show a very hand drawn style of art. Not sure if I like the style but I am definitely going to pick this one up as I loved dead cells and the first couple of Prince of Persia games.

This is cool recreation of the GTA VI Trailer in real life by Youtuber Andrew Levitt. The BTS for it is a fun watch too.
