It is super sad to see with Sony’s PlayStation London studio’s close and Sony announcing 900 lay off in total across different teams in PlayStation. It feels like even worse when you find out they were celebrating Jim Ryan’s retirement only days after his visit to the London Studio.

This has not been a good week for developers with lays off announced at Deck Nine. It just gets even worse for developers as EA announces another 670 lay offs. Sea of Thieves co-developer Radical Forge has also said that they will be laying off a handful of employees. We hope that all that were layed off are able to land on their feet.

There biggest announcements is Pokemon Presents was a new Pokemon Legends game to be released in 2025 which means there is no main line Pokemon game this year. However a mobile game version of the Pokemon trading game will be coming out this year but I do wonder whether the free to play part of it will be any good and keep me hooked or will I have to start paying for pack - we shall see.

Last week we linked a reported a Rumor in which Respawn was working on a Mandolorian bounty hunter game, apparently this has now been cancelled by EA. Personally we are glad that EA are not the only developer working Star Wars games anymore.

I went to Japan last year and Akihabara has a great vibe and is such a cool place to be however I would warn anyone who is going that it is not the cheapest place in Japan and you might get the best stuff as you might once have been able to in the past. In this article you will learn more about Akihabara and how it links to physical games media in Japan.

We here at Everglow do not like game streaming in its current form because of the reduced quality and increased lag and this is shown in Digital Foundry’s newly released super interesting in-depth analysis on PlayStation Plus Game Streaming vs Xbox xCloud
