My Current Games

This is the first post on this blog and as I would like you to get to know me and why not start with the games I am currently playing. I tend to play a wide variety of games from first person shooters, sports games, open world stories and many more different types.

Metro 2033

I did complete this game when it first came out but I am yet to play and sequel of which I recently purchased both however since it was some time ago since I played the game and I got it free on the epic games store I thought I'd catch on up on the game and story (although I don't know if the stories are linked). I am playing the game on easy to get through it as quickly as possible so I can move to the sequel, it's not something I usually do but i am quite enjoying gunning through it quickly. I am beginning to remember why I completed it the first time. It's pretty much a linear shooter with an interesting story and few jump scares, I haven't played a game in a while which has given me goosebumps when a creature jumps out of nowhere to attack you. I also plan to read the books the game is based on as I have heard they are pretty good too. Also with the PC enhanced version of Metro Exodus looking so good with ray tracing implemented to probably the highest extent so far in a game.

I do also really like the dystopian future genres like this games and also cyberpunk style games and will explore many more games like this on the blog

Animal Crossing

This was the first time ever picking up a main animal crossing game (I did try the mobile game but did not enjoy it) and somehow it’s taken over my life, I am flower breeding and turnips selling and have recently started to terrorform the island to my liking. My goal is to eventually get a 5 star island that I really like but without time skipping to make money (might time skip though to get certain items which are only available at certain times of the year such as cherry blossoms and Halloween / Christmas stuff etc.).

Watch Dogs 2

I played the first game and always heard good things about the second game but never got around to playing it until recently. I also really want to play Watch Dogs: Legion as it’s based in London and London was where I was born and is my favourite city so I just want to explore the city to see what I recognise and how they have changed it for the game, that part of it I think will be a cool experience. I have read that it is a bit lack lustre in terms of story and the character recruiting mechanics can get a bit repetitive so I have held off for now as I have quite a few other games to play at the moment.

Watch Dogs 2 is based San Francisco and I have not explored the city itself very much, I tend to fast travel when I can as it takes a while to drive to different areas, seems a bit too open for my liking and because I have never been there the city doesn’t really resonate with me but I think it’s cool how they recreated silicon valley. I am not sure how far I will get playing this game because the story doesn't seem that great, the mechanics are a bit better than the first game but the driving is really arcade like and I only spend 15 minutes here and there playing it.

Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War

I only started playing Call of Duty to play with a friend of mine and have only played the online multiplayer so far. I have heard the main campaign is good and I will play it at some point after I complete the Metro series. I do like playing it but only because I'm playing with a friend, the COD formula hasn't really changed much but that is not a bad thing as a lot of people like it. It's not my personal favourite fps but I think it's quick and easy fun to play with friends.

Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the first Legend of Zelda game that I played and I loved it, I put in over 200 hours when it was first released back in March 2017. So when Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening came out I pre-ordered it and was excited to play another Zelda game however unfortunately as is the way of things life gets in the way and the game sat on the shelf. Recently I moved my Nintendo Switch into my study so my two year old son doesn't break it and saw the Link's Awakening box was still sealed and so decided to start playing it. I am really enjoying it, although I have only put in a few hours so far. I think it feels like a game I can pick up and play for short periods of time on the Switch in handheld mode which makes it really easy to play when my son is sleeping in Bed or when watching TV with my wife.

Apex Legends

The last but not least game on the list I am currently playing is Apex Legends. I tried this game when it first came out and also in season 2 however I did not really understand how to play and did not want to take the time learn at that point. Recently I have been watching a lot of Youtube videos of Apex from some well known streamers such as LG_Shiv and LuluLuvely which taught me a lot about how to play the game. I then picked up the game again about a month and half ago and have really got into it. I am definitely still a noob but finding it quite fun to learn. Plus it quite an exciting time with Season 9 starting, the new arena mode and obviously the most important of all emotes are being added.

That is all the games I am currently playing however I have a huge list of games I want to play (and huge backlog of games to play). I don't see many games coming out that I am interested in until later on in the year which gives me a chance to catch up on the backlog of games I have like the Metro sequels and Ghostrunner.

What games are you playing? Let me know in the comments below or on Instagram or Twitter. Also if you like these or similar games follow me on Instagram and Twitter to see more and also to know when new articles come out.
